(I am writing this in the test area as I test it.)
I downloaded 2.44 and it's too hard to suggest to folks. I used an earlier version and they've added too much to easliy explain to folks...
To shrink your photo's one solution is gimp! Go to this site and install this free program:
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/gimp-win/gimp-2.4.4-i686-setup.exe
GIMP is the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed piece of software for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. It works on many operating systems, in many languages.
